Health Care?

One of our concerns with the move is our ability to obtain good health care in China.  After seeing the following pictures, at least we do not have to worry about dental care:

It was however, disappointing to learn that the tooth fairy doesn't exist in China; instead:

When a Chinese child loses a baby tooth, it doesn't get tucked under the pillow for the tooth fairy.  If the child loses an upper tooth, the child's parents plant the tooth in the ground, so the new tooth will grow in straight and healthy.  Parents toss a lost bottom tooth up to the rooftops, so that the new tooth will grow upwards , too.

As you can see, we still have a lot to learn about life in China.

Symptoms

Just over one week to go and already in the panic mode.  Met with my boss from Shanghai yesterday and WOW are we in for a unique experience.  Cath's  first comment after the meeting was:  I can get used to this!  This was the fact that everyone has a maid that cooks and cleans 6 days a week.  As for work, I think we are off to a good start as my boss said "I hope you like working independently because we really don't have time to monitor you"  What more could I ask for!  The biggest issue will be the difficulty in getting prescription medicine in China.  I guess this stems from the fact that the Chinese use holistic medicine rather than pills, we will give this a try also.
